The four leadership styles

How well do you know yourself and your leadership style? Knowing and understanding yourself is synonymous with how you lead, how you work with your team and your success with them.

There are four different leadership styles: the visionary, the technician, the coach, and the cross-pollinator. Most likely, you lean to one of them all of the time, but it can never hurt to combine them when the need arises.

So which one are you? Let's find out below!

The Visionary

You're the best at storytelling and know how to galvanise the mission, but perhaps the everyday intricacies are not your strongest point.

Can you get people thinking about the dream of what it is you want to build? Then perhaps you need to work on how to deploy the skills and talents to drive that forward.

The Technician

You love the day-to-day action, and you're excellent at crafting and knowing how everything fits together. However, you're missing the ability to coach your team members and see a person's heart. Plus you are more than likely to be stuck in the weeds or firefighting in the day to day and miss the opportunity to be more strategic in your actions.

The Coach

You'll know that you have the leadership style of a Coach when you enjoy having rich and deep conversations. Getting people to answer questions about themselves comes really easy for you. In addition, you thrive in supporting your team members.

Where you're probably lacking is the need to embody more of the technical aspect of being a leader and ensure that things are getting done.

The Cross-Pollinator

You're all about spreading ideas through the company and bridging the gap between using the left and right brain mindset. You're probably someone who loves to put together projects and is never shy about starting conversations. You thrive on seeing how things work and analysing what you can do differently. You're borrowing ideas from different industries to keep things fresh and creative.

So, where do you stand right now? Where do you think you might be in terms of your leadership style? Where do you want to stretch yourself if you're entering a new position or leading a bigger team?

It's essential for you to know who you are fundamentally. Knowing your leadership style will help you grow in new ways and help you transition to ebb and flow through different states of being a visionary, technician, coach, and cross-pollinator.
